How Am I graded in Art?
(Subject to change based on the need to go to Distance Learning. Digital submissions will be required.)
-Daily Warm-Ups (5 points per day)
-Weekly Checks:
-Art Habits and/or Progress Updates (30 points),
-Final Artwork Submissions & Reflections (100 Points)
Absences: If the student is absent on the due date of an assignment, it is the student's responsibility to get assignments and turn the work in upon his/ her return, or make arrangements to turn in work ahead of time. For each day of absence, the student is allowed an extra day to turn the work in.
School-Wide Homework Policy: All assignments recorded in the district’s student information system, Infinite Campus, have an assigned due date. Late work will be accepted up to one week past the assigned due date. It is the teacher’s decision if work will be accepted for full credit after the assigned due date based on circumstances and learning needs. Teachers may deduct points up to, but no more than, 25% of the total grade earned by the student on the late assignment.
Missing Assignments: It is essential for parents and students to check the Portal periodically. It does take some time to enter grades, but I generally have them entered by the following week. If a student is actually missing an assignment, it will be marked "Missing" on the Portal (which calculates as a zero until the work is turned in).
